This is our story

Mission Statement 

By providing opportunities for an integrated system of care, Matthews-Scippio Impact Center will harness the synergy of intersectionary programming thus weaving opportunities for the connection of interdependent organizational services and resources leading to systemically aligned programming. Through this merging of protective factors which address multiple socio-determinants of health, risk factors are removed and replaced with self-affirmation, progressive development, and community empowerment.
 


VISION STATEMENT

Nestled in the small, rural community of Fort Valley, GA the Matthews-Scippio Impact Center thrives to transform the concept of prosperity for at risk individuals and families to actual impactful indicators of its presence and longevity.

Meet our Executive Board  

Bruce Mackey 

Chairman 

He is a native of West Point, Ga. Mr. Mackey is the current pastor of Greater Faith Babies Church of God By Faith, Inc. In this capacity, he is loved as a secular with an innate ability to relate to the socio-economic and spiritual needs of his congregation. He formally served as Principal of Peach County High School for over 8 years where he was primarily responsible for all aspects of the educational institution's operations. Key result areas included: developing and overseeing the school's budget, managing personnel, customer relations with students, parents, and partners, and promoting the general organizational culture of the Institution. His propensities for internal and external management are laudable chronicling his natural ability to serve as a leader. Currently, he's the Director of the Peach County Recreational Department. He is also a member of the Omega Psi Phi Inc fraternity. He loves his church, Greater Faith Babies Ministries, and doing what is right for all children.  

Katrice Mackey 

Executive Director 

A helper to all she knows. In addition to serving as First Lady of Greater Faith Babies Church of God By Faith, Inc., Mrs. Mackey holds the position of Physician Assistant for the military veterans community in Dublin, Georgia. Her proven capacities relative to an understanding of the necessity of integrative services, demonstrating the relationship between positive health indicators and additional social determinants of health are evidenced by her presence in leadership roles within a variety of social service agencies in the community. A natural educator, Mrs. Mackey's ability to lead in the programmatic reform of organizations has manifested in various presentations i.e. Pipeline Students, the Profession as a PA, a Career as PA, etc. Her efforts have elevated macro-level community standards and raised programming proficiencies for many partners charged with doing the work of social reform. 

LaShauna Hunt 

Secretary 

Dedicated to the principles of community service and social impact, I am honored to serve as a valued member of the board for Matthews-Scippio Impact Center Incorporated. Having to navigate challenging economic circumstances in my formative years established my passion and drive for community outreach and empowerment. As a supervisor of Healthy Community programs at Atrium Health Navicent, I provide oversight, coaching, mentoring, and leadership to improve healthcare quality in Middle Georgia. Before joining Atrium Health, I served as a Program Director for the Medical Laboratory Science program and Division Head for Health Sciences at Central Georgia Technical College. I earned my B.S. degree in Biology from Western Kentucky University and my Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Science and Health Science from Augusta University, formerly the Medical College of Georgia. I also earned a Doctor of Public Health degree in Public Health Leadership from Georgia Southern University. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 3 girls, learning new hobbies such as crocheting, and gardening. 

Jaqueline Ross 

Treasurer  

Ms. Ross' work experience in fields that require secretarial roles includes; her responsibilities within the Defense Logistics Agency and Re-Engineering Business Solutions. In these capacities, she was charged with keeping all records to evidence compliance with the funding agencies. Her communication skills are impeccable in all areas from visual to written further indicating her ability to serve as an excellent record keeper for the organization.

Talisha Moody 

Parliamentarian 

Talisha Carter-Moody possesses an impressive career spanning over 28 years, where she has demonstrated expertise in training and counseling for challenging populations. Armed with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master's Degree in Community Counseling, she has become a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor. Her commitment to excellence is evident in her extensive training in various evidence-based programs. Even in retirement, Talisha remains active in her community, contributing to the well-being of others through her private counseling practice for adolescents and adults. Her deep faith guides her actions, and Talisha's life mission is clear: to leave a lasting impact on the world by utilizing her God-given talents to the fullest
